Three Reservoirs
Dantian is a concept from Chinese traditional medicine and internal practices such as qigong. The term refers to three energy centers located in different parts of the body. Each Dantian serve as centers of concentration, cultivation and circulation of energy (qi) and the body's internal resources. Whether you believe in the physical reality of the Dantians or view them as symbolic aspects, working on these energy centers can help improve your vitality, health, and spiritual development.
The word “Dantian” itself also translates as “Field of Elixir” and is sometimes called a “cauldron” due to some of its functions. Each of the dantian is associated with a certain level of reality, so to consider them only as energy reservoirs would be a big mistake. Each of them in its own way manifests the hidden Primordial (Tao) and, therefore, in the course of various practices, understanding the true essence of the dantian and its spiritual comprehension is one of the most important moments.
This field effectively cleanses all three energy centers of toxic cords, removes blocks, obstructions and tensions that lead to stagnant and blocked energies, thereby revitalizing, restoring and renewing energy connections throughout the human system. Sealing the dantian means preserving and stabilizing the stored energy in a particular center; it is also a process aimed at forming the correct holistic structure of the dantian, thus preventing the leakage of vital energy (qi) and facilitating its further accumulation and redistribution in the body. When the body's energy centers are free of blocks, once the energy begins to flow through its channels and vessels with a full flow, the spiritual-body system becomes on the path of self-healing, which ensures good health, promotes rejuvenation and increased longevity.
